The guy who made it was likely a pirate game maker looking for some quick cash, Sketch. Thus the utter lack of effort, quality, and everything that should make up a game.

It was a letdown for me and Eggman! Usually pirate games are a lot better than this.
But we enjoyed making Sonic die in the most cheapest ways possible in a game that deserves a dying Sonic synth.

Actually, Eggie. Pirate games tend to be overwhelmingly shitty. You may be thinking of ROM-hacked games, of which there are a wealth of good'uns. The difference is money; ROM-hackers do it for the art of it.
